Coastal Middle School was originally built as an elementary school and later converted, with no major renovation to the cafeteria or restrooms. Savannah-Chatham County Public Schools retained Raymond to remodel the cafeteria and modify four sets of grouped restrooms for compliance with ADA requirements and current codes. In the restrooms, our design upgraded lighting to LED, replaced finishes, plumbing fixtures, tile and wainscot, and raised partition heights. Cafeteria work updated finishes and life safety devices including strobes, intercom, and security systems, and added acoustical panels for noise control in the dining and backstage areas. Drinking fountains were replaced with no-touch bottle filling units, and Raymond coordinated conformance with state guidelines.
