Town of Clayton Maintenance and Equipment Shop

Clayton, NC

The Town of Clayton engaged Raymond to design a new maintenance building for its Parks and Recreation division, sited at the back of an ongoing new park project. Raymond supported the multidiscipline project entirely in-house, working with town staff to develop a floor plan and coordinating with pre-engineered metal building manufacturers to identify the most cost-effective structure. Programming began with staff interviews and a visit to a comparable facility the town wanted to use as a baseline. Because the department's full-time headcount had tripled in two years, the design maximized conditioned space to seat more than thirty employees across breakroom, locker, and training areas while holding to budget.
