
NC State Capitol Building Restoration

Raymond provided architectural, building envelope, and mechanical consulting services for the restoration of the historic North Carolina State Capitol, a nationally significant structure originally constructed in the 1800s. Delivered design-build in collaboration with the contractor and multiple state agencies, the project covered envelope restoration, roof repair and replacement, mechanical system evaluations, and full construction documents compliant with the North Carolina State Construction Design Manual. Work included hands-on masonry preservation consultation, onsite mock-ups and treatment test panels, and coordination with the State Historic Preservation Office, the State Construction Office, and the State Capitol Foundation. Raymond supported every phase from 50% design through bidding and construction administration, with weekly site inspections.
