During an On-Call Building Envelope contract with Auburn University, Raymond was contracted to perform roof design and construction administration services for the roof replacement at the University’s Quad Center. The roof was replaced with a new, 25-year architectural shingle roof with new ice and water shields as well as a new fully adhered 80mil TPO single ply roof. Our team also provided the design for the installation of new fall protection anchors.

Unique Challenges
Coordination of the construction schedule with facility operations and academic calendar requirements proved to be a challenge. Our team diligently worked to meet construction goals while respecting the school’s academic schedule.
Our team had to provide additional scaffolding and protective barriers at entrances and building elements in order to provide protections during demolition.
Our Value Add
Raymond provided a new external gutter system which replicates the historic “ogee” profile of the original built-in gutter system while eliminating the possibility of internal leaking.
Our team incorporated fiber cement materials to eliminate susceptibility to rot at the eaves, while referencing historic dimensions and trim profiles.
We provided a new fall protection system for both low-slope and high-slope roof conditions as well as a new roofing system for both low-slope and high-slope conditions with 20-year warranties.
